Sri Lanka is Taking a Severe Beating

I haven’t seen a word in the USA media about this story so I am putting it out here. This is a major disaster.

Sri Lanka is an island about the size of West Virginia and sits off the southeast coast of India. It is home to about 22 million people.

Early this week, a tropical depression stalled off the southern coast, dumping huge amounts of rain onto the Island and causing major flooding. So far, 56 people have died in the flooding with a number of people missing.

In the past day or two, the storm intensified to Cyclone Ditwa and has moved over the island. It has parked itself there for a couple of more days..It may be Sunday before they finally get relief.
