Bonus picture from November 2015. Horses on a foggy morning with Mt. Adams in the distance. Trout Lake, Washington.
I will be busy hanging out with family today. Rather than writing a long diary, I will go through my photo archives and select pictures taken in November, in various years and locations.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
In 2010, my night blooming cereus had two blossoms on November 23, a rarity. It generally blooms during the summer. This year it produced one bloom in November.
Wind River Canyon in Wyoming, November 2, 2012. I used this pic in my bike trip series.
November 18, 2013, branches of a sourwood tree. This species is common in north Georgia, and has spectacular fall colors.
November 19, 2014. On a forestry job in Alabama, I took this picture of a frosty windshield on a cold morning. The distorted reflection of photographer and camera can be seen upper left.
In 2015, I worked an extended session out west. I took this pic on November 2 in southern Washington. The fog meant that all the vegetation was wet, and a fun day in the woods was not forthcoming. So I delayed as long as I could by taking pictures.
2016 was the first year that Noble Fur traveled with me. I took this iconic image at a rest area in Illinois on November 7.
November 22, 2017. During a visit with my brother and his family for Thanksgiving, we went to Sope Creek in the Chattahoochee River Natl Rec Area, north of Atlanta.
Georgia country living at its finest, November 5, 2018.
Fungi and fallen leaves, November 23, 2019. The brightly colored leaf is from a sweetgum tree.
New cedar siding on my house, replacing the ragged warped boards that had been there. November 27, 2020.
New Day Cafe is a daily community diary. We have a regular core group that shows up nearly every day, plus a few stragglers. Everyone is welcome; we’re always happy to have new folks show up. But please leave your attitude at the door. Personal attacks will be countered with scorn, and repeat violators will be flagged into oblivion.
Remember too: By group consensus, no pictures of Dear Leader are allowed here.
