I do hope we didn’t wake up this morning to find we have always been at war with Venezuela.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Napoleon tried to invade Russia. Only about 50000 of his invading army of more than half a million survived. DNA analysis has recently add to the evidence of what killed that army.

I’m told that my grandson very recently transferred from the school he’s gone to since kindergarten to the middle school where his sister went. He’s in eighth grade. I’m told he’s much happier in the new school.
The new insurance cards are starting to come in. I have already received word of next year’s charges and, since I don’t have ACA, things aren’t much different from what they have been — the dental and vision insurance I have haven’t changed price in several years.
I’ve been having a bit of heartburn at night. I’ve figured out how to prevent it, and I don’t actually mind not eating the last several hours before bedtime. However, there is now a clog of phlegm in my chest right about where the heartburn was. I’ve got some supplements that are supposed to be good for clearing phlegm, and I’ve been taking them for a while — but the heartburn was a fairly recent development. My research hasn’t turned up anything else I already have available that might help. Yet. My chiropractor might be able to help, since she uses micro-current besides the traditional adjustments.
Not that this is really news at this point, but Empty Greene is resigning from Congress. In January, it seems. I think she means it about reading names into the Congressional Record if the Epstein Files are seriously redacted.
