Good evening, everyone! Welcome to the night before Thanksgiving Evening Shade! I hope everyone is snuggled in and enjoying the season however you most like it. Not everyone has to follow conventional wisdom. I like to think of all holidays as a time to do what I enjoy most. I enjoy being with my family and catching up. We are all so busy anymore that any downtime is to be savored.
I am thankful for a wonderful Evening Shade community! This has been a difficult year but look how far we’ve come in our protests of the horrible ones trying to kill democracy and enrich the billionaires while trying to grind down the rest of us. I think we have made tremendous progress!! And the felon is weakened beyond repair, it seems! It certainly isn’t a time to slack off, but we can still be thankful we’ve come this far.

This says it all.
A woman called Lakewood Church asking for baby formula. Now, she's shaming them.
The Bible is full of parables about feeding the needy and caring for the poor. Thousands of years after the Bible was written, a Kentucky woman has gone viral for asking a Houston megachurch if it will hold up that bargain.
✂️
"I was calling to see if y'all could help with formula at all, I have a 2-month-old baby, and we ran out last night, so she's been going all day long without food. Is there any way y'all could help with formula?" Monroe asked.
At that point, a person on the phone from Lakewood Church tells Monroe that the church has a "benevolence ministry," and that she can take down Monroe's information for an application. When Monroe asks how long the request for assistance could take to be fulfilled, the Lakewood clerk says "a few days or weeks," and only if a request for help is approved.
Monroe was flabbergasted, saying a church of Lakewood's size and wealth should be able to provide for a mother in need. Per a Fox Business report from 2019, Lakewood Church had $59 million in assets.
And more on the same story…
Woman Asks Churches If They Will Feed Starving Baby—The Response is Shocking
A woman in Kentucky has gone viral online after posting a series of videos where she asks churches if they will help to feed a starving baby. The results have shocked social-media users, and the videos have amassed views by the million.
Nikalie Monroe, who describes herself on TikTok as a left-wing Army veteran and a lesbian, has been filming the series as a social experiment—the “starving baby” she refers to is not real. Monroe does not have a child; instead, she uses the scenario to test how churches respond to pleas for help. ✂️
As of reporting, Monroe has posted 42 videos to TikTok, where she calls churches and asks them for help in feeding a starving baby. Monroe is calling churches in states all around the country.
As of the 42nd video, nine churches have said that they will help, and 33 have said no. ✂️
The sad thing is, I’m not surprised. Kudos to the ones that offered help, though. And apparently their generosity paid off because hearing of their willingness to help, they received thousands of dollars donated to their food banks from readers of the TikTok posts.

Just a quick reminder of our protest this weekend of boycotting Target, Home Depot and Amazon.
November 25, 2025 - Letters from an American
Last week, a poll conducted for Global EV Alliance, made up of electric vehicle driver associations around the world, found that 52% of Americans would avoid buying a Tesla for political reasons.
Tesla chief executive officer Elon Musk pumped more than $290 million into electing President Donald J. Trump and supporting the Republicans in 2024. After taking office, Trump named Musk to head the “Department of Government Efficiency,” a group that slashed through government programs and fired civil servants.
In response, protesters organized “Tesla Takedowns,” gathering at Tesla dealerships to urge people not to buy the vehicles. The protests spread internationally. In March, Trump advertised Teslas on the South Lawn of the White House to try to help slumping sales, to no avail.
In September, consumers flexed their muscle over parent company Disney’s suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s late night talk show on ABC after pressure from Federal Communications Commission chair Brendan Carr over Kimmel’s comments following the murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk. About three million subscribers canceled Disney+ in September, while Hulu, which Disney owns, lost 4.1 million. Monthly cancellations previously had averaged 1.2 million and 1.9 million, respectively. While not all of those cancellations could be chalked up to consumer anger over Kimmel’s suspension—Disney subscription prices went up at around the same time—Kimmel was back on the air in five days.
Every day, I am struck by all the ways in which we are reliving the 1890s.
In that era too, consumers organized, using their buying power to affect politics. As the first general secretary of the National Consumers League, Florence Kelley, put it: “To live means to buy, to buy means to have power, to have power means to have responsibility.” ✂️

I’m of the opinion it’s great doge is gone, but they did more damage than we probably know. I hope when this regime is over, democrats will investigate and hold those responsible to account.

Fight Back: Gallego Defends Fellow Veteran Mark Kelly Against Sham Investigation, Crockett Pushes Back Against Trump, and Comey Slams Bogus Charges
On Monday, House Democrats and local leaders held another shadow hearing in Los Angeles, where they slammed the Trump regime’s widespread immigration abuses. The hearing included US citizens who were illegally detained by ICE, and other witnesses.
Afterward, Rep. Maxine Waters said: “This is an important press conference that is being held to let you know what we’re all doing: resisting this lowdown, dirty, no-good, filthy president.”
And Rep. Jasmine Crockett piled on, stating: “I know someone promised that they would make America great. They are doing just the opposite. The idea that someone ran and said that I will get rid of the bad guys, yet we know more than 50% of the people that are currently being detained in custody have no criminal records at all.”
Speaking about the Trump regime, Crockett said that the innocent immigrants being arrested “are what make this country great, not your thuggish ICE agents.”

No Surrender: Senator Kelly Refuses To Be Silenced By The Regime, AOC Calls Out Trump’s Broken Brain, and Bob Kennedy’s Failing Agenda Brutally Dismantled By His Own Brother
✂️
Maxwell Kennedy wrote a brutal op-ed in The Boston Globe about his brother, failing HHS Secretary Bob Kennedy. Maxwell said their dad, RFK, “would have been appalled by the cruelty the Trump administration has directed toward America’s neediest … It’s a betrayal of all that my father worked for.”
Kennedy went on to say: “And all those complicit in that betrayal have lowered themselves—not least my brother … who knows my father’s legacy as well as anyone.” ✂️

Such classic gaslighting it's an instructive moment. The question is not whether generic is better or worse, it's that a list with more expensive brand names is not the same as a list with cheaper generics. Perverting that truth into an attack on those calling it out is Manipulation 101.

I want to thank Nanny Ogg and kraigo for finding the following stories. Knowing I have darling house guests, they graciously offered these newsy bits. 🥰
More Idahoans are getting sick after drinking raw milk, state says
Idaho state and local health officials are investigating a recent increase in illnesses after people drank raw milk.
Since August, more than two dozen Idahoans have reported they’ve become ill after drinking raw milk, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare says.
At least 23 of those cases were from the bacteria Campylobacter, six of which were in kids under 12 years old. Three cases were from infections from the Shiga toxin-producing E. coli, also known as STEC.
Raw milk isn’t pasteurized, a process that involves heating the milk to kill bacteria — like Campylobacter, E. coli, Listeria and Salmonella — that can be present in raw milk. ✂️
Good grief. A direct link to the idiot in charge of HHS and to the idiot who nominated him and to all the idiots who voted to approve him.

Meet the helpers: Kentuckians step up for neighbors facing food insecurity this Thanksgiving
PRESTONSBURG — BeLinda Click shivered in the cold fog as she greeted each person in a long line of cars, checking each one’s referral letter saying they’d been pre-approved for a free Thanksgiving meal.
By 10 a.m. on Monday, the line of cars stretched deep into the parking lot at Big Sandy Community and Technical College in Prestonsburg.
About 100 people signed up to get boxes at this location through God’s Pantry’s Sharing Thanksgiving program, which for 31 years has given people in need the ingredients to make a traditional holiday meal for up to a family of eight — turkey, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, corn, stuffing mix and more.
Between Monday and Tuesday, God’s Pantry distributed around 7,500 Thanksgiving meal boxes at various sites in Central and Eastern Kentucky.
“Have a happy Thanksgiving!” Click called out to the passengers in car after car. She knows what it’s like to need help. That’s why she’s here. ✂️

If you’re wondering why there’s a lull in the Epstein files discussion, it’s because the law that just passed gave Pamela Jo 30 days to release the files. So we’re all waiting to see how she tries to sabotage it. The discussion will pick back up in earnest on December 20th.

Verghese Kurien, born on November 26, 1921, was a visionary, an innovator, and a social entrepreneur whose contributions reshaped India's dairy sector. Constitution Day marks the ratification of the Constitution, whereas Republic Day, on January 26th, commemorates the establishment of the Constitution of India.
The adoption of the constitution marked the transition to full independence from Britain as it ended Lord Mountbatten's role as governor-general of India.
Did you know?
Initially consisting of 397 articles and 12 schedules, the Indian Constitution has since had over 100 amendments, and now has 448 articles in 25 parts and 12 schedules, making it the longest Constitution in the world, befitting the world's largest democracy.

For centuries, olive trees have stood as enduring symbols of life and resilience. Native to the Mediterranean region, the olive tree holds deep historical and cultural significance across the globe. In ancient mythology, it represented peace and prosperity, while in religious traditions, it has often been associated with spiritual nourishment and healing. Its durable nature and ability to thrive in challenging climates make it a metaphor for perseverance and adaptability.

This Thanksgiving Eve, Tie One On (an apron of course!) and bring joy to the life of someone in need. Participation is easy and uplifting: simply wrap a loaf of bread or baked good in an apron and tuck an encouraging note or prayer into the pocket; then present your offering to a neighbor, friend, or person in your community who could benefit from a gesture of kindness.

We should all be able to stay warm at home. However, rising energy costs, low incomes, and energy-inefficient homes are restricting people’s options, leaving them in impossible situations like having to choose to heat their home, feed their children, or pay their rent.
As a result, around four million UK households are in the grip of fuel poverty, unable to afford to heat their homes to the temperature needed to keep warm and healthy. It’s a national injustice that sees those with the least money having no choice but to live in homes that are the most difficult and expensive to heat.
