Wisp, hoomin is it going to get cold soon?
After Thanksgiving …
Furrst our gentle reminder:
- Do not troll the diary. If you hate pootie diaries, leave now. No harm, no foul.
- Please do share pics of your fur kids! If you have health/behavior issues with your pets, feel free to bring it to the community.
- Pooties are cats; Woozles are dogs. Birds... are birds! Peeps are people.
- Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. If you’re having “issues” with another Kossack, keep it “out there.” This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly.
- There are some pics we never post: snakes, creepy crawlies, any and all photos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals. These are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated. If we alert you to it, please remember that we do have phobic peeps who react strongly to them. If you keep posting banned pics...well then...the Tigress will have to take matters in hand. Or, paws.
Tis’ the Season for candles…scented or unscented.
And as the night grows deeper, as shadows clutch the walls,
The flames continue whispering, their soft, enchanting calls.
tapered, in clusters…
In the soft glow of a fading flame,
Whispers of memories call your name.
Scented wax, a balm for the past,
Ebbing shadows, moments amassed...
in singles, or
in glass jars --my preference -—
Burn bright, sweet memories, don’t let me forget,
In this soft, glowing twilight, love’s quiet duet.
And as for November...
sandlewood and amber
Notice how for November the colors are yellow and evoke scents of wood, warmth, autumn and leaves… And after Thanksgiving…
Tonka bean and pumpkin
come Christmas, and red
sparkling winterberry votive in larger glass candle
Or green and of the Bayberry Candle...
Tradition of the Bayberry Candle: just encountered this and wanted to share---
This bayberry candle is a gift from a friend,
on Christmas Eve burn it down to the end.
A bayberry candle burned down to the socket,
brings luck to the home and wealth to the pocket.
Here’s a Bayberry Candle that’s meant just for you…
With Holiday Tradition that’s tried and true.
When you light this candle on Christmas Eve Day,
Love and Luck come to you when it’s burned all the way
To bring good luck for a year,
you must burn a Bayberry Candle on Christmas Day.
And if the flame burns bright, and the light shines clear,
then heaven will bless you all the year.
The tradition of the Bayberry Candle holds that once lit must remain lighted until burned to the end, some apparently have left a lit bayberry candle in a bathtub to burn down.
Hope all peeps had a festive Thanksgiving, enjoyed with family, friends, pooties and woozles, and for some the weather cooperated for others … hope you make it safely home.
I prefer glass candles, blow out the candle, immediately replace the lid, preventing candle smoke from permeating the room — yes, the glass has to be cleaned of smoke residue easily done with a damp cloth. Have never heard of the Bayberry Candle tradition, love the scent so now I’ll be looking for one.
