Note: I use a ‘theme’ for my diaries, in an attempt to keep my writings on a cohesive path while I compose the diaries. It is also fun to see comments that fit within that theme. However, here in MOTland, all topics are welcome, it is an open thread. There are no demerits for being so-called ‘off-topic’. Thanks!

This diary’s theme: songs ‘after’ Thanksgiving, that is, songs with ‘after’ in the title.

"Walkin' After Midnight" is a song written by Alan Block and Don Hecht and recorded by American country music artist Patsy Cline. Originally, Cline was not fond of "Walkin' After Midnight", but after making a compromise with her label, she recorded it.
Her first reaction to "Walkin' After Midnight" was negative, and Hecht and Four Star owner Bill McCall agreed with her. The compromise was that Cline would record it as long as she could also record “A Poor Man’s Roses...”, a song she favored. "Walkin' After Midnight" was then recorded on November 8, 1956,
"Walkin' After Midnight" became Cline's first major hit single, reaching number two on the Billboard country music chart . Although the song was her only hit until 1961, the single version sold over one million copies and is often included on authoritative lists of the all-time greatest songs in country music.

"One After 909" (sometimes entitled "The One After 909" in early recordings) is a song by the English rock band The Beatles. It was written by John Lennon, with input from Paul McCartney. The album version is the live performance from the rooftop concert which took place on 30 January 1969. The song was written no later than spring 1960 and perhaps as early as 1957, and is one of the first Lennon–McCartney compositions. "One After 909" is perhaps more reminiscent of early American rock and roll than any of the other songs from the rooftop show.
In his 1980 Playboy interview Lennon explained, "That was something I wrote when I was about seventeen. I lived at 9 Newcastle Road. I was born on the ninth of October, the ninth month [sic]. It's just a number that follows me around.
McCartney said, "It's not a great song but it's a great favorite of mine because it has great memories for me of John and I trying to write a bluesy freight-train song. There were a lot of those songs at the time, so this was the 'One After 909'; she didn't get the 9:09, she got the one after it.
