I’m going to have to get almost all of my yard work done today. This will be the last nice day for it for a while. I put up my Christmas decorations yesterday. All I did was clear out my bundles of Autumn Indian corn and replaced them with wreaths. I also covered the bales of straw around my house with red and black horse blankets. That took longer than I predicted. I still need to get my front lawn raked. I don’t know why I bother with that job. The oak trees out there are still shedding leaves. I guess I like to be able to see there is indeed grass growing under that blanket of brown.
So Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be warmish but rainy. From Wednesday on it's not supposed to get above freezing. We are supposed to get snow beginning Friday night. I’m talking inches of accumulation. With the cold temperatures I wouldn’t be surprised if this snow cover lasted until Spring. You see why I had best get the leaves raked today.
Is anyone else out there putting their Christmas decorations up yet or am I rushing the season?
