A four color closed box, 4 different sheets.
Over a dozen years ago I done got me a new hip.
Now that I am approaching Ironman status with four joint replacements and fusion I have had a lot of physical therapy in the intervening years
and lots short term disability too recover.
the first time I was out on STD I decided to learn origami.
given I was in pain med induced haze for several days I actually did well. Ok maybe I did well after the pain meds. I took most of the competed objects into a cold 3 season porch to take pictures in crisp sunlight. Thought you might enjoy them.
An open box. One of my favorites . Two colors BUT It’s a single colored sheet with the reverse (white) side showing.
A closed box. Single colored sheet single sheet.
An open box — actually a truncated pyramid. Single sheet with reverse (white) side visible.
Another open box, single sheet …. I think it’s folded so that it hides the reverse side of the paper. Not really a favorite although pretty functional to collect desk detritus in.
Patterned paper, open box. Reverse side not visible. Picking the paper to use is part of process. Generally solids seem better for geometric shapes. At least to my eye. In this case the geometric pattern works ok.
Another single patterned sheet that worked well on the 3 sided pyramid…
Part 2 will be non geometric shapes…ie animals etc
