It is not okay to insult Trans folks on the right with transphobic insults/jokes because “they deserve it”
It is not okay to insult Black folks on the right with racist insults/jokes because “they deserve it”
It is not okay to insult Gay folks on the right with homophobic jokes/insults because “they deserve it”
It is certainly not okay to insult straight folks with the same insults because “they deserve it”
The same goes for any type of minority, women, immigrants, those who are handicapped etc…
An insult dipped in any kind of bigotry does not become “okay” because the person you are insulting belongs to some other fraction! What is so hard to comprehend here? I don’t care if the person you’re insulting is maga, right, ultra-right or even a fucking nazi.
If you are against racism, bigotry, misogyny and the likes, you are against them in any circumstances! PERIOD! Any other thing is just an excuse to express your hidden bigotry. Yes, even dressing up Lindsey Graham as a woman. Again what is it that you do not understand? There are many ways to insult him, thinking he’s gay and therefor attacking him with homophobia ain’t it.
“oh but it’s funny you see, because…” No, it ain’t funny just because Graham is on the right, just as it wouldn’t be funny if he was on the left. I don’t care what excuses you come up with to justify your bigotry, it will always be bigotry to me.
How you treat your enemies reflects on you and to me you are no different than guards beating prisoners because “they deserve it”. It’s the same principle after all right? If you view someone as “bad or evil” it’s okay to do bad or evil to them because “they deserve it”. Which is the same mindset they use to justify whatever crime or opinion they hold.
Some folks think they have to go above and beyond in their “allyship” and end up missing the “ship”. Let me repeat again, minorities do not need you to “hate” your peers, to administer your brand of retribution upon them, we need you to educate your peers, to stop the spread of hate not to contribute to it.
I personally do not hate white folks (as a Black woman) I don’t hate men, so I don’t need anyone hating them on my behalf.
