Trump approval falls again in the Gallup poll.
President Donald Trump’s job approval rating has fallen five percentage points to 36%, the lowest of his second term, while disapproval has risen to 60%. The latest decline follows three months of stability, with 40% to 41% of Americans expressing approval of his handling of the presidency. (Gallup)
As Trump fends off yet another reporter’s question by calling her “stupid,” he explains his poll numbers this way:
“So, my poll numbers just went down, but with smart people, they’ve gone way up. They’ve gone way up.” (Huffpost)

The ballroom project is having problems.
Another reminder that the president is busy micro-managing decorative matters that have little to do with governing the country. When cruel and crazy policy decisions are attributed to Trump, we might want to focus less on his unfitness for office and think more about the invisible hands that are actually moving the levers of government. He has served as a puppet and a distraction for them, but on the plus side, he’s becoming ever more troublesome to his handlers.
===
He likes to make odd proclamations. It must be frustrating for his handlers to have to clean up after statements like this.
===
Is this another bit of Trump craziness or some admin person’s weird take on misogyny, targeting medical fields dominated by women?
===
Trump also posted a very weird Thanksgiving message. I won’t display its ugliness here but you can look if you want. Otherwise, have a kitty. This one looks like the one my Dad found in the turkey roaster curled up in the warm drippings.

Another weird proclamation.

And this odd proclamation from last night.
Doesn’t “pause” indicate an impermanent action? What does this statement even mean?

Although it looks like Trump is deploying the National Guard randomly depending on which Democratic mayor or governor he’s angry with at the moment, plans for using the National Guard to round up immigrants go back to Project 2025, to his first administration, and before his time.
In 2017, The Associated Press reported on a memo it obtained from DHS, outlining a draft proposal to use the National Guard to round up unauthorized immigrants throughout the U.S. At the time, the White House denied it, saying there was no such plan…
Matt Dallek, a professor at The George Washington University who studies the American conservative movement, says that Project 2025 essentially opens the door for Trump's National Guard deployments — particularly to Democratic-led cities — without explicitly calling for them.
"The subtext of Project 2025 is to take any and all steps at the executive level to go into cities and states to enact the priority — which is to root out illegal immigration," Dallek says. (NPR)

Something odd is going on with US immigration policy though. Suddenly the US wants immigrants to be kept out of all first world countries.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has ordered American diplomats in Europe and in Canada, Australia and New Zealand to press their host governments to restrict most immigration and to file reports if the governments appear to be overly supportive of immigrants, according to a document sent to U.S. embassies and consulates.
Mr. Rubio told the diplomats to emphasize the effects of criminal acts by immigrants to encourage greater entry restrictions, according to the document, which is a diplomatic cable dated Nov. 21. The text of the cable, which was obtained by The New York Times, has not been previously reported. (NYT paywall)

The reason may be a racist take on the preservation of Western civilization, as stated by Stephen Miller, who appears to be one of the people who is actually running the government in Trump’s shadow.

One last bit of good news. With health care costs skyrocketing for so many Americans, Bernie’s plan isn’t looking so wildly leftie to American voters after all.
x
‘Medicare for All’ still big. “In a survey of 1,207 likely voters [from] Nov. 14–17, 2025, ...65% of voters [supported] a Medicare for All system, described as a ‘national health insurance program... that would cover [everyone] & replace... private health insurance...’" jacobin.com/2025/11/medi...
