Vladimir Putin, aided and abetted by his venal and uncurious minion, Krasnov are at it again .. shoving ransom notes disguised as “Peace Proposals” at Ukraine under the threat of American abandonment(as if there has been any substantive American aid since Krasnov re-entered what was once the White House). If asked about what is by all indications a Russian script proferred under his name, Krasnov probably wouldn’t be able to articulate even one of the so-called 28 Points in the plan. And yet here he is, putting all the might of the United States of America behind such an odious “take it or else” demand from the Kremlin. The president of the United States as a bag man for the Kremlin? Unbelievable!
The Ukrainians know where they are and what their current situation is. They will play it smart … carefully crafted words, no drama, no histrionics … but their answer to the 28 point Putin-Krasnov ransom note will be a tactful yet unequivocal нє (nye) … No!
And if Krasnov were to insist on cutting all ties with Ukraine(doubtful), the Ukrainians will forge and press on in their fight for Freedom which has been a long multi-generational time coming. In this fight they will be bruised, battered, pillaged and even murdered. But they will stand up and fight … eyes firmly focused on freedom from the odiousness of Ruskiy Mir. What started as the “Maidan Revoultion” will keep forward.
Taras Shevchenko, their national literary hero and kobzar(bard) tells them so:
"Our Soul Shall Never Perish. Freedom Knows No Dying..." This line from My Testament is frequently engraved on monuments and encapsulates the enduring spirit of the Ukrainian people and their fight for freedom.
"Oh bury me, then rise ye up. And break your heavy chains. And water with the tyrants' blood. The freedom you have gained." This quote from My Testament calls for a violent uprising to achieve liberation, a powerful and defiant statement.
“Break your chains, and live as brothers!" This plea for unity and liberation is a recurring theme in Shevchenko's work, urging his countrymen to shed their differences and fight for a common cause.
"I am punished, I suffer... but I do not repent!..." This powerful declaration of defiance was written by Shevchenko during his exile and is a testament to his unwavering spirit.
Shevchenko’s own relatively short life is a testament to resistance in the face of the unrelenting deprivation and depredation his people have known under the Russian yoke … living just 47 years, much of it in abject suffering, never truly free:
Born into serfdom March 9, 1814
24 years a serf
9 years a freeman
10 years a prisoner in Siberia
3 1/2 years under police supervision
Died March 10, 1861 from health broken by the ravages of 10 years in a Siberian penal colony
Krasnov may see Ukraine and her people in much the same way that imperial Russia has … “Little Russians” who are ultimately dispensable. Uncurious as he is, he may not have even heard of Taras Shevchenko. But within the heart of every Ukrainian who has stayed at home under the daily Russian onslaught and within every Ukrainian who has stood to arms in defense of their homeland, beats the heart of Taras Shevchenko. ADAPTIVE INDOMITABLE UKRAINE will stand … with or without help from the current malversant administration in Washington, DC.
SLAVA UKRAINI ! PEREMOHA(Victory) !!
