Unhingery continues and Entertainment suffers as Trump consults John Eastman's theories of democracy.
Prior to this, in 2020 Trump attempted a coup on 6 January 2021 and now is screwing up the economy with tariffs. No one yet has paid for plotting an actually seditious coup d'état in 2020/2021. The same crowd is behind the current crisis and a few have been pardoned or had their sentences commuted. Others like Peter Navarro remain under the thumb placed on many different scales.
The Eastman memos, also known as the "coup memo", are documents by John Eastman, an American law professor retained by then-President Donald Trump, advancing the fringe legal theory that the Presiding Officer of the United States Senate, either the President of the Senate or the President pro tempore, has the unilateral authority to count, deliberate over, and reject certified state electors and electoral votes. This theoretical power could be used to nullify an election in order to produce an outcome personally desired by the senate president, potentially including: a result in his own party's favor;
Grump’s failure continues as Senators like Lindsay Graham are trying to loot the Treasury because they were part of the original plot best exemplified by Graham’s role in trying to rig votes in Georgia.
Some social scientists define coups d’état in ways that require the perpetrators to hold formal positions within the existing national government. We do not. In the Cline Center’s approach, the relationship between the perpetrators and the government only determines the type of coup. Coup d’État Project data includes events initiated from both within and outside the government. Other researchers might classify efforts to overthrow a government by non-governmental actors as insurgencies or civil conflict events rather than coups. We allow data users to decide whether the broader or narrower definition is appropriate for their purposes.
100+ remain in office. Markwayne Mullin is now a US Senator, and Mike Johnson is House Speaker.
Observers watching the unfolding event live on January 6th (2021) could see that the storming of the US Capitol clearly met the first three criteria: one or more persons posed a credible threat to the power of the legislative branch to determine national policy. However, it was unclear at that time whether the attackers were trying to merely disrupt the process of governing or were attempting to change who controls the government. It was also unclear whether the assault on the Capitol was spontaneous, or had been organized in advance. By late January of 2021, Cline Center researchers reviewing voluminous reports about the event, including official documents, quotes from participants, and analysis of details in videos and images, concluded this additional evidence clearly demonstrated that the two remaining criteria were also met.
First, some of the groups and individuals known to have organized and planned this coup attempt fall clearly into the category of “dissidents.” In the Cline Center typology, a dissident coup is initiated by a small group of discontents that can include former government officials, religious leaders, business owners, or civilians.
Second, ongoing investigations by members of the US Congress, legal authorities, and news organizations have revealed credible additional evidence that President Trump was actively involved in attempting to displace the authority of the legislative branch, which also makes the events of January 6 an attempted auto-coup. Under Cline Center definitions, an auto-coup occurs when “the incumbent chief executive uses illegal or extra-legal means to assume extraordinary powers, seize the power of other branches of government, or render powerless other components of the government such as the legislature or judiciary.”

Tariffs are the stalking horse for the next coup, creating chaos from recovery and mystifying the economy with disinformation about policies and outcomes.
Trump consults ‘creative accountants’ and still doesn’t understand tariffs
Trump highlighted trillions in projected tariff revenue, record stock highs for the 48th time in nine months, low inflation at 3%, and credit for halting five wars through tariff threats. Actual FY2025 collections reached $195 billion, up 150% from last year, though far from trillions so far. He lashed out at Leonard Leo and Charles Koch, labeling them 'slimeballs' for backing lawsuits that challenge his tariff authority under laws like the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, amid mixed court rulings. The post underscores growing tensions within conservative ranks over trade policies as more expansions loom.
(x.com summary)
The Green Bay Sweep is the name of a procedural strategy to attempt to overturn the 2020 United States presidential election advocated by Peter Navarro. In the political iteration, devised by Steve Bannon, the Electoral College vote count would be blocked by repeated challenges to various state's vote counts by Republican members of the House and Senate favorable to Donald Trump. Each challenge could take up to two hours of debate by each chamber, individually, leading to as much of 24 hours of televised hearings.[1] According to the plan, public pressure created by the delay would lead state legislatures in six key battleground states with Republican-dominated legislatures – Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin, Nevada – to de-certify election results, with the intended outcome that Trump would have more certified electoral college votes than the election's actual winner, Joe Biden.

Peter Navarro was a key figure and the intellectual driving force behind the global tariffs and the trade war with China during Donald Trump's time in office.
-
As a senior administration official and the Director of the White House Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, he strongly advocated for protectionist trade policies and played a major role in developing the administration's tough stance on China.
-
Navarro's books, such as Death by China, influenced Trump's views on trade and led to Navarro's role as an economic and trade advisor during the 2016 campaign.
-
He provided the "underlying analytics" and scholarly arguments to support the president's intuition on tariffs and trade, even as his views were at odds with many other economists and political figures.
In short, he was a central architect who translated Trump's protectionist beliefs into actual policy.

Project 2025 calls for tariffs but not as widespread as the 🤡 in the white house.
The 🤡 has instead taken the advice of Peter
Navarro, the genius who orchestrated Jan 6 "Greenbay Sweep" for which both should be in federal prison for life w/o parole.
Thanks again Merrick Garland

The Truth Social A.I.
Trump’s blanket pardons for stop-the-steal illegality aren’t only about settling scores from past elections. They’re about laying the groundwork to subvert future ones.
Catherine Rampell @crampell OK this is amazing. Trump’s Truth Social has its own AI search tool, which debuted a month after Trump signed an exec order ending “Woke AI” in federal government. Here's how it responds to questions about tariffs, who won 2020 election, Jan 6, etc:
So he began his second term with the mass pardon of the Jan. 6th insurgents he’d incited to storm the Capitol. This wasn’t merely a reward for his past followers. It was an unmistakable signal for the future to those who might be asked or inclined to take extra-legal action on his behalf: You act for me, I’ll take care of you. Over the last ten months, Trump has followed up with all manners of pardons for friends, allies, business partners and the like, sending an unmistakable signal to others on his side: You scratch my back, I’ll pardon yours.
Then, yesterday the Justice Department announced a mass pardon for 77 named individuals but also for basically anyone involved in Trump’s campaign to overturn the 2020 election.
It was a preemptive pardon, proclaimed before any federal charges had been brought, in order to preclude such charges in advance.
As of now, Peter Navarro has not been pardoned by Donald Trump. While there have been discussions indicating that Trump is considering pardoning Navarro, particularly in light of loyalty during Navarro’s legal troubles related to the January 6 investigation, no official pardon has been issued as of November 2025.
And it was very broad. Trump’s “full, complete, and unconditional” pardon insulated from federal prosecution “all United States citizens” for any “conduct relating to the advice, creation, organization, execution, submission, support, voting, activities in, or advocacy for or of any slate or proposed slate of Presidential Electors, whether recognized by any State or State official, in connection with the 2020 Presidential Election, as well as for any conduct relating to their efforts to expose voting fraud and vulnerabilities in the 2020 Presidential Election.”

“Politics are the entertainment division of the corporate industrial/military complex…” ZAPPA PAUSED, SMOKED, CONTINUED: “Well, I think it behooves them [American citizens] to have political thoughts, but let me make a definition clarification here. I say politics is the entertainment branch of industry, and government is what we need. We have a diverse population in the United States, with all kinds of different needs that have to be taken care of. That is the righteous function of government. Politics is bullshit, basically.”
