It has been a tough couple of weeks for Donald Trump. After the GOP getting trounced in various elections around the country, an unruly Congress demanding to see the Epstein files, and legal disasters on every front, his regime was looking for a win. Hence the latest insanity, the 28-point “Peace Plan for Ukraine”. The plan, essentially a blueprint for Ukraine’s surrender, could have been generated from the original Russian by Google Translate.

JD Vance had a long phone call with President Zelenskyy after the plan became public, and I am pretty sure it wasn’t to reassure Zelenskyy that this was just Trump being Trump. Zelenskyy’s solemn address to the Ukrainian people after the call confirms that. No, this was Vance letting Putin know that JD is on his side, and any help that Putin can be in making sure he is the heir apparent to Trump would be welcome.

Vance is a man utterly without scruples or moral compass. He jumped on the Trump bandwagon because it provided a convenient path to power, and will dump Trump as soon as an equally convenient off-ramp appears. His performance during the February Oval Office meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy, one where Vance should not even have been present, confirmed all of my worst suspicions. Vance’s only loyalty is to himself. We can only hope that before Trump finally leaves the world stage, he has told JD Vance “You’re fired!”
