Ukraine is not going to occupy the Kinburn Spit or Oleshy, but driving the Russians out is a good possibility. The Kinburn Spit is a nightmare to defend — it is basically a long thin stretch of sand with no cover. Oleshky is directly across the river from Kherson. Russia likely can’t afford to retreat from Oleshky.

Russian milbloggers are openly worried about the situation on the left bank of the Dnipro in Kherson. Ukrainian forces now have fire control over key logistics routes in Oleshky and Kinburn Spit. Drones and long-range strikes make Russian resupply nearly impossible, calling it 'extremely difficult'.
