As I asked myself what to post this week, I thought about my big stash of food, especially my canned pumpkin.

I decided that no, I am not willing to make any pumpkin pies in time for Thanksgiving.

Likewise, no green bean casserole.

But I have some of the ingredients for these things, so I decided to record a nice video about what I plan to cook later, after Thanksgiving.

The little dog is named Itzl.

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at, to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off Daily Kos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on Daily Kos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

Pumpkin Soup

This creamy pumpkin soup is flavored with sautéed onions, garlic, and thyme for depth, then blended with maple syrup and warm spices. It’s a smooth, comforting soup we serve at Thanksgiving every year.
