Yes, I know. Before we get into it, there have been many holocausts. There was the Armenian Genocide. The Rwandan Massacre. The Ethnic Cleansing of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Guatemalan Genocide. The Killing Fields of Cambodia. The Ukrainian Famine of Stalin. The Great Purge of Soviet Russia. The mass sterilization of Latino and Eastern European Immigrants. And of course, Nazi Germany and the current Genocide in Gaza.
I would consider the Massacre of Native Americans during the Colonization of these very lands to be he most vicious and heinous of these. But then, this isn’t a “mine’s bigger than yours” contest. There have been a lot of holocausts.
Yes, I admit it leans toward clickbait, but I’m using this terminology because I think it’s appropriate, and also necessary, as we seem to be largely lacking the urgency to properly respond to yet another atrocity that is happening right now, right in front of our eyes. This is a Five-Alarm Fire.
For example, DOGE managed to cancel desperately needed food and medicine for millions — putting 12 million directly at risk with at least 600,000 deaths already documented. 2/3rds of whom have been children. Yet this has been rendered out-of-sight, out-of-mind,
And that was just the beginning.
We are still in the early stages of this horror, there may be a chance to turn it around before it gets out of hand, but it may get much worse very soon.
First off, they promised us that they were doing with ICE and mass deportations was to “keep us safe.” They promised us that they would be focusing on the “worst of the worst”, the persons who were guilty of violent crimes and sexual assaults.
That was a lie.
...a high percentage of immigration detainees are not criminals, with recent data from late 2025 showing that
around 71-74% of individuals in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention have no criminal convictions. Many of those without convictions were held solely for civil immigration violations, while a significant portion of the remaining detainees had minor offenses like traffic violations.
- High percentage with no criminal conviction: Recent data indicates that over 70% of individuals in ICE detention have no criminal record.
- Minor offenses: Of the remaining 28-29% who have a record, many were convicted or charged with minor offenses, such as traffic violations.
- Held for civil violations: A notable portion of the detainee population is held for civil immigration violations rather than criminal ones.
- Shifting population: The group of individuals with no criminal history has become the largest single group in ICE detention.
Cato reports that only 5% of detainees have a violent criminal record. That is the opposite of what we were promised. People without a criminal history are by far the largest portion of those arrested and detained by 19 to 1.
Please let that sink in. Take a moment. These are largely innocent people or those with minor, frivolous charges.
This is how ICE functions, arresting and kidnapping people who’ve done nothing seriously wrong, they are asylum seekers or those who have Green Cards and Visas, then tossing them into “Ice Boxes” that are kept ridiculously cold. One asylum seeker in this video stated that their time at Butler County Jail was worse than being detained in Egypt.
We heard it over and over on the campaign trail: Donald Trump’s promise of a crackdown on criminals and undocumented immigrants at a scale and breadth this country had never seen before. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, commonly known as ICE, has swept into American cities and is detaining more people than ever before.
However, 71 percent of those held in immigrant detention by the end of September did not have criminal convictions, according to the Migration Policy Institute, a think tank focused on immigration. Many law-abiding immigrants who followed the rules in their applications for visas, green cards or asylum are being taken into ICE detention centers.
In the Opinion Video above, meet three people who came to America legally, only to find themselves in ICE detention. They followed the rules — but it didn’t matter.
Some of those people are U.S. citizens, like this woman whose car was rammed by ICE before she was dragged screaming from her vehicle, then detained.
A Chicago-area mother named Dayanne Figueroa was recorded by bystanders being violently ripped out of her car and whisked away by armed ICE agents right after their unmarked SUV crashed into her car while hitting a U-turn in the middle of the street, in yet another instance of Donald Trump's secret police force terrorizing random civilians in broad daylight.
Or this woman from Chicago who was honking her horn at ICE agent when they, again, rammed her car, then shot her five times.
In an exclusive interview, CNN's Omar Jimenez speaks with Marimar Martinez, a United States citizen who was accused of ramming the vehicle of a Customs and Border Protection agent in Chicago before he shot her several times. A judge dismissed charges against Martinez after a reversal by federal prosecutors in one of the most high-profile cases connected to Operation Midway Blitz in Chicago.
Or here, as ICE drags a teacher out of a pre-school without a warrant, even though she is an asylum seeker with a legal work permit.
There is outrage in Chicago following a federal immigration arrest at a day care. While witnesses say it was a chaotic scene, officials say the day care was not the primary target.
Or Ice slamming this woman to the ground inside a courthouse as they drag her husband away from his family. This unprovoked violence should be as infamous as Bull Conor at the Edmond Pettis bridge.
An ICE agent slammed the wife of a detained man from Ecuador against a wall and the ground in front of her children on September 25, 2025 in New York City, according to video taken by Getty.
These men and women should be revered like Rosa Parks and Harriet Tubman have been for putting their safety and lives on the line fighting Slavey and Jim Crow. Fighting this detention and deportation regime is just as vital.
As I’ve written before the punishment for “illegal entry” is not summary detention or deportation. That’s not the law.
“Illegal entry” is a misdemeanor offense punishable by up to 6 months in jail or a fine of $250. It’s not a capital offense. Using that offense as a justification for “expedited removal” is questionable at best, but even moreso, when you haven’t bothered to first prosecute the individual for that initial offense. If they haven’t been convicted of a crime, they are not a “criminal.”
They’re taking people who are, at best, suspects for “illegal entry”, assaulting and arresting them without probable cause or a judicial warrant, then tossing them without due process into concentration camps and sometimes deporting them without a removal order to foreign death camps.
They worked hard to normalize this insane shit, to make all of these people into “Illegals” but what they are doing is what is illegal and unconstitutional.
These are not minor incidents; the impact on many people caught up in ICE detention has been devastating.
Sarah Wildman, a staff writer and editor in Opinion for the NYT, spoke "to a half-dozen people and their families who have been taken into Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention." According to Wildman, "Each was re-entering, or was already in the country legally. No one was smuggled across the border."
"None of the people we spoke to had a recent criminal record. (Three had minor nonviolent brushes with the law, all in the distant past; one received a pardon.) All were treated like suspected violent criminals, forced into tiny cells, dressed in prison uniforms, manacled for transfer. Those we spoke to were held for anywhere from 10 days to over 70 days. The experience shattered their equilibrium," the analyst wrote. "Immigration and Border Patrol officers have long held extremely broad discretionary powers to welcome or reject noncitizens arriving in the United States. And this is far from the first wave of xenophobia to hit America. But something different is happening now in the breadth and ferocity of efforts to change the makeup of this country."
Wildman went further in calling attention to viral videos of brutal ICE operations.
"The videos circulating on social media are brutal and terrifying — the often violent arrests, people pulled screaming from their cars, out of day care centers, away from their children and their spouses. What should give Americans equal pause is the inhumanity happening beyond the cameras, away from the view of judges and lawyers and the media. Due process is not a constitutional right afforded only to citizens; legal restrictions on unlawful detention apply to all people on U.S. soil," she wrote. "The stories we were told call into question both the constitutionality and the morality of how the Trump administration is directing immigration policy. That immorality, once unleashed, may ultimately be aimed at others in this country, regardless of immigration status. If a woman returning from vacation with her young children can be suddenly removed from her family and her life, how can we believe that any of us will remain safe?"
According to Wildman, "There was a disquieting sameness to the horror that was described to us."
What we don’t know, yet, is what is happening to these people once they’ve been taken away and shoved into places like Alligator Auschwitz, largely because nobody is keeping track. Many of the detainees are missing.
Hundreds of people who were once detained at the troubled immigration jail in the Florida Everglades, dubbed "Alligator Alcatraz," have disappeared.
Democracy Now! speaks with Shirsho Dasgupta, a Miami Herald reporter who found that, as of late August, about two-thirds of the 1,800 immigrants who were held there in July have gone missing from ICE's online database, with their families and attorneys unable to locate them. Earlier this month, a federal appeals court ruled the jail could continue to operate despite reports of abuse.
"What we're seeing at Alligator Alcatraz is basically a new model of immigration detention, where a state-run facility is operating as an extrajudicial black site, completely outside of the previous models of immigration detention in this country. And it's making what was already a terrible system somehow even worse," says Thomas Kennedy, policy analyst at the Florida Immigrant Coalition.
That’s 1,200 that have gone missing. We don’t know where they are. Were they deported? Are they alive? It’s only been a few months, how long before this becomes tens of thousands? There are plans to open dozens of these detention centers around the nation. This is only going to grow.
Also, some of these people are American Citizens.
Florida officials are under fire after reporters discovered that U.S. citizens were arrested during Trump-era immigration sweeps — and then the state quietly deleted the evidence. Records showing more than 20 citizens detained in “Alligator Alcatraz,” Florida’s controversial Everglades detention camp, suddenly vanished after journalists asked why Americans were being swept up in ICE raids at all. Yasmin Khan exposes the alarming crackdown, the missing detainees, and the growing cover-up unfolding under Ron DeSantis and the Florida State Board of Immigration Enforcement.
And they are actively covering-up those citizens in detention,
On top of all this, ICE officials are brazenly hiding the facts and lying in court.
A New York Times investigation published Tuesday revealed that the administration erroneously distorted Chicago Police Department officers' responsiveness and protesters' actions in a filing that requested the high court to allow the troops in the Windy City.
"The emergency request, filed by the solicitor general, D. John Sauer, which draws heavily from court declarations made by two Homeland Security officials, misstates what happened in the aftermath of a car crash and shooting on Oct. 4 in Chicago that involved Border Patrol agents," The Times reported.
After analyzing hundreds of videos and hours of police radio, The Times debunked the federal government's claims that police were slow to respond and left ICE agents on their own in "what they called a riot." During the Oct. 4 crash and shooting, The Times found that police responded within seven minutes and found that "protesters were peaceful for the first two hours, before a forceful federal response."
"That contention is central to the administration’s legal rationale for deploying the National Guard: that 'violent protests' are preventing agents from enforcing immigration law," according to The Times.
The case could set a stunning legal precedent for authorizing the military in American cities.
And there are more lies.
For months, Donald Trump's Justice Department claimed that Costa Rica would not accept Kilmar Abrego Garcia, but a bombshell Washington Post exposé has exposed that as a lie. Abrego's lawyers cited that report as evidence of the government's campaign to "mislead the courts and defy court orders," arguing that Abrego's case should be dismissed for vindictive prosecution.
And even more lies.
A federal judge said U.S. Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino lied in a sworn deposition about the use of force during Operation Midway Blitz. The judge says a key claim he’s made is disproven by video evidence.
And of course, they’ve defied judicial court orders to the point that they are on the verge of criminal contempt.
In a stunning twist, Trump's former criminal defense attorney and short-lived member of his DOJ, and now a sitting US Federal Appellate Judge, could be compelled to testify to another federal judge who is ruling on whether the Trump Administration and its DOJ LIED to him in Court back in March and is in criminal contempt, meaning someone may be going to jail!
Unfortunately, the courts work slowly as this action had been halted by an appeals court. Meanwhile, ICE remains on the street, disappearing people each and every day.
All of this is part of a larger pattern. This comes from a specific cowboy/tough guy mindset that completely misreads and misunderstands what the law actually is and how it works. This is Lethal Weapon writ large. These people think these pesky Constitutional Rights are just “suggestions” and “technicalities.” We can just walk into someone’s house and just shoot them in the chest, even though we had no warrant or invitation and we could easily have been seen as trespassers or burglars, There are hundreds of these type of take charge and get revenge Copaganda films and TV shows where the square-jawed Hero guy takes out the swarthy, smarmy villain who’s secretly got a knife in his boot, so it’s perfectly fine to smash into their car and hit them with an axe-handle.
They had it coming.
Never mind probable cause or reasonable suspicion. Never mind giving them their Miranda rights. Never mind putting them in a cell that is sanitary or safe, Never mind providing them food and water, Never mind letting them speak to an attorney, Never mind letting them speak to a judge or their family. These unqualified untrained ICE thugs are cosplay-acting at being their favorite Action Star and that’s not how John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Rock Hudson, Tony Curtis, McQueen, Eastwood, Bronson, Swarzenegger, Willis, Wahlberg (both of them), Seagal, Sorbo, Stallone, Statham, The Rock, Diesel, Denzel, Snipes, Sutherland, Crowe, Butler, Rourke, Gibson, Norris, Van Damme, Li or Jackie Chan would handle things. Cut the fat, get to the bone. (And yes, I noticed that most of those actors are also Republicans; that’s not a coincidence.} This thuggery is a large part of our American cultural DNA, we’ve been swimming in it for 100 years. MAGAs are drowning in it.
It’s no wonder that Trump has stepped in with his pal Ellison at Paramount to have them green-light Rush Hour 4 with Chan and Chris Tucker. These fuckers honestly think all of John Wayne’s ridiculous good guy Western movies were REAL. (Just imagine how those stories would be from the perspective of the Native Americans? Ala Billy Jack, Dances with Wolves, or Killers of the Flower Moon) They constantly complain about “Hollywood” being leftist, but they’ll do everything they can to suppress any “Woke” culture that says anything different. This is not an accident.
These frackers are doing the live cosplay version of Birth of A Nation. They’re the new true Sons of Liberty KKK Patriots protecting the sacred virtue of white women from the dirty, vile, evil, rapist, brown, migrant hordes. (He did say “Mexicans are Rapist”, and you can’t swing a cat or dog without again hearing about Laken Riley) It’s the final Rise of the Confederacy, a continuation of Manifest Destiny and White/Christian Supremacy. Saving America from the Brown menace.
That shit is how these people really think things are supposed to work. That is their Great America that they desperately wish to bring back.
Like Blue Blood’s or Law and Order where everything the cops and prosecutors do — even when they use brutality, then lie, falsify and suppress evidence — is totally justified and anything the defense attorneys do to catch them lying, is despicable.
Christian Bale in Batman Begins: “Ah, your system is broken.” Which grants him permission to work around and outside that system.
All they care about is the result, not the process. Get the “bad” guy, in anyway that you can. They don’t know the Constitution or the rules; they don’t care about the rules. They don’t care about fairness, they don’t care about Justice.
(On this tip, I highly recommend everyone who can see “One Battle After Another,” which is a fantastic film that flips all these ridiculous COP HERO tropes, particularly involving immigrant communities, upside down and sideways. We need more of this.)
Similarly, their attempts to use the power of prosecution against their political enemies is also incompetent and pathetic. They ship Abrego-Garcia out of the country to the one nation where there’s already a standing order not to send him. A judge says, “Turn the planes around,” and they pretend like they didn’t fucking hear him, or didn’t understand what “TURN AROUND” means.
They can’t find an experienced prosecutor to file a case against Comey and Letitia James, so they get a former Beauty Queen Insurance Lawyer who doesn’t know to not copy and paste from one indictment to another without having the full Grand Jury vote.
They have the Parking Garage Lawyer assigned as US Attorney to New Jersey, only to have her kicked to the curb and all her cases dropped, including the Mayor and Congresswomen she had arrested for trying to inspect an ICE facility.
They try to file a case of incitement against six members of Congress for literally reciting the text of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Yeah, trying to intimidate a fighter pilot/astonaut is a great plan. A normal, regular, experienced prosecutor or JAG will not file this case, so they’ll be fired or will resign until they finally get a cheesy bottom-of-the-barrel McLawyer to file the charges and fuck up the case with their incompetence.
This is how Mark Kelly responds.
Today, it was announced that the punitive penalty of $1 million for Trump and Alina Habba’s frivolous lawsuit against Hillary Clinton and James Comey over the “Russia-Gate Hoax” has been upheld by the 11th Circuit
A federal appeals court upheld a $1 million penalty against President Donald Trump and his former lawyer Alina Habba for filing a "frivolous" lawsuit against Hillary Clinton, James Comey and others.
[...]
"Trump and Habba argue that 'the case law is unsettled or there was a reasonable request for an extension of the law,' at least for the tolling argument," the decision added. "Many of Trump’s and Habba’s legal arguments were indeed frivolous."
While he was out of office following his 2020 election loss, Trump filed the sprawling racketeering complaint over the Russia investigation that dogged his first term, but the appeals court upheld a lower court ruling that he had committed sanctionable conduct with Habba, who is now interim U.S. attorney in New Jersey.
"Trump leaves all these frivolous claims behind, making a total of 11 of his 16 claims he does not appeal," the court ruled. "Trump and Habba give us no reason to reverse the district court’s ruling that these claims were frivolous."
I see this claim about Clinton and Comey creating a “fake controversy” about Trump and Russia every day on X(Twitter). It’s gospel to these people. And yet, 25 Russians were indicted, 8 Trumpers were prosecuted, 5 of them for lying under oath about communicating with Russia. Inspector General Horowitz and Special Counsel Durham both confirmed that the investigation was legitimate. It was no “hoax.” Trump got away with this shit because his sycophants all lied under oath and he pardoned them for it. He skated on a technicality.
These people can’t lawyer straight; they think the deluded conspiratorial fantasies in their heads are real, and that the courts will honor those fantasies without any evidence at all.
And they do not learn from their mistakes.
All of this is a sick perversion of the law, based on a sick, delusional, lazy, bigoted perversion of reality. This is their core mindset. They are pathetic, but they are also dangerous,
Thousands of people have been caught up in this ongoing crime, thousands are disappearing, thousands of people have been assaulted, traumatized, detained, deported, shot, killed and honestly, openly tortured as we saw in CECOT. This is already a new permanent stain on America.
Thousands are going to become Millions quite soon. This is already a holocaust; it’s just a matter of how large it will ultimately become before it can be slowed and stopped.
And I don’t think we’ve seen the worst it yet, not hardly.
And just to cheer everyone up, here as some ICE guys getting loudly trolled as they deserve to be.
