Ukraine went after bases in Chechnya belonging to the Akhmat unit that has been fighting alongside the Russians.
A Russian soldier shows why this area of Novotoretsk is called the Valley of Death. He videos a meat assault past the bodies of numerous Russians who went before him and didn’t make it.

A Russian rocket launcher is destroyed and the explosion is large enough to also take out the drone that bombed it.
“Everything’s burned to shit.”
Too bad. So sad.

Then, according to him, Putin’s relatives wiped out this source of income by cutting off access to the Tugnuysky coal mine.
He claims that the mine is now controlled by "the president’s son-in-law", the coal is being shipped to China - Russia’s new masters - and Buryatia remains one of the poorest regions in the country.
Putin: I’ll put it in writing. Trust me.
Putin tries to make a joke about Witkoff but channels Trump and forgets.
You knew they were going to blame Ukraine and/or the Europeans.
I guess you can say that Putin crossed the Rubiocon.

The so-called peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia will fail. It is inevitable. Putin‘s objective - the destruction of Ukraine (and the USA) - will never stop for as long he draws breath. He crossed the point of no return a long time ago.

Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, who is Vance’s old friend, is trying to scare Europeans into agreeing to a peace plan by telling them the Russians are preparing for a big attack. This tactic isn’t new, but it often works. Anyone remember the WMDs in Iraq?

“It’s pure carnage.”

1/ While Russia is making incremental advances in the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian soldiers say that it's resulting in carnage among their units. Conditions at Stepnohirsk are said to be dire, with entire battalions virtually wiped out. ⬇️

2/ Russian soldiers fighting at Stepnohirsk on the road to Zaporizhzhia city have told the 'Brothers in Arms' Telegram channel that "the situation there is, to put it mildly, dire."
3/ "The battalion has been practically wiped out. Only company and platoon commanders, sergeants majors, and clerks remain. The rest are reinforcements who arrive, complete the training ground, and immediately go on to storm Stepnohirsk."
4/ "10-12 men arrive, 3-5 survive" – that's the arithmetic. It's pure carnage.
It's reached the point where gunners are being transferred from combat vehicles to the infantry. When vehicles are left without crews, it speaks volumes about how bad things are for the people.
5/ "Even a sergeant major went to evacuate the 200 [dead] troops from Kamianske. Do you understand the scale of it? The mud is knee-deep, you just get stuck, it's faster to walk.
6/ "The trees are bare, there's nowhere to hide, and the drones see everything in plain sight. Moving forward is becoming a lottery: either the birds spot you, or you get stuck in the mud so bad they can't evacuate you.
7/ "But the guys say, "We're working. We're holding on. What can we do?" This is our reality. We're just holding on. The question is, for how long..." /end
He isn’t wrong.
Sounds like a good idea.

Russia continues to expand its influence in West Africa.
Togo is a thin strip of a country sandwiched between Ghana and Benin. The former French colony is only about 115 km (71 miles) wide.
Bosnia, which isn’t even a NATO member, isn’t taking any crap from Hungary.
Defence Minister Zukan Helez announced the decision himself in a post on Facebook.
The politician explained his decision by saying that Hungary had not provided an adequate justification for the head of its foreign ministry’s arrival on a military aircraft.
“I refused to grant permission for the Hungarian military plane to land at Banja Luka Airport, on which Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó was supposed to arrive,” Helez stated.
He also emphasized that for many years, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Minister Szijjártó have openly supported the former president of the administrative entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina (the Republika Srpska), Milorad Dodik, in actions that undermine the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and unity.
According to media reports, Szijjártó, who was in Belgrade on Wednesday for talks, was scheduled to arrive in Banja Luka on Thursday to receive an honorary doctorate from the local university.
Russia put eight people on trial for the truck bombing that heavily damaged the Kerch Bridge and has given all of them life in prison.
The accused - a mix of farmers, small business owners, a truck driver, a logistics worker and a man renting out SIM cards - were charged with terrorism and illegal handling of explosives, with two also accused of smuggling.
According to 'investigators', they were part of a group allegedly organised by Ukraine’s SBU chief Vasyl Maliuk, though the defence argued they were simply random people caught up in the case with no evidence they knew the truck contained explosives.
The SBU itself has previously said the men were used “in the dark” during the Ukrainian operation. Several key figures behind the shipment were never identified or detained.
Is there anything that you can’t do with duct tape?

Update from Pokrovsk.
x
💔 All that remains of the Pokrovsk mine administration.
Before Russia's arrival, thousands of people worked here.
Considering that Russia has no need for the mines, its own industry is in crisis, and there's nowhere to put the coal, it's clear no one will restore it. They'll flood it and abandon.
